Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam – The Missile Man and Inspiration of India

Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam was one of the most respected and loved personalities of India. Known as the “Missile Man of India,” he was a scientist, teacher, and the 11th President of the nation.

His full name was Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam. He was born on October 15, 1931, in a small town called Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu. Coming from a humble family, he faced many struggles in his early life but never gave up on education and dreams.

After studying aeronautical engineering, Dr. Kalam joined DRDO and later ISRO. He played a vital role in the development of India’s first satellite launch vehicle (SLV) and many missile projects. Because of his outstanding contribution, he earned the title “Missile Man of India.”

In 2002, he became the 11th President of India. But more than a politician, he was a teacher at heart. His speeches and books continue to motivate millions of young minds.

He once said:

“Dream is not that which you see while sleeping, it is something that does not let you sleep.”

Dr. Kalam passed away on 27 July 2015 while giving a lecture to students — proving that he lived and died doing what he loved the most: teaching and inspiring others.

Even today, his life and vision guide every youth who dares to dream big and work hard for the nation. 🇮🇳
